1.1. General provisions

1.1.1. The ‘Summer School on the Russian Literature’ journal accepts to the publication general-theoretical, methodical, debatable, critiques, results of researches in the field of the Russian literature and the theory of literature. The main language of publications – Russian, articles in English are published in coordination with editorial council of the journal.

1.1.2. Earlier published materials, and also materials presented for the publication to other journals are not taken cognizance. At any subsequent reproduction of the materials published in the journal the reference to the journal is obligatory.

1.1.3. The recommended article volume – 8-10 p. Articles more then 8-10 p. are accepted only in coordination with editorial council of the journal.

1.1.4. Article has to be accurately issued and carefully an edited.

1.1.5. The text of article can be sent to the address: summerschool@list.ru in the form of the file (Word 2003 format) to the editor-in-chief of the journal Kobrinsky Alexander Arkadyevich. At the same time the text of the manuscript has to keep structure of supply of material (see item 2.2).

1.1.6. The license contract which 2 copies the author signs is sent to the author of article adopted to the publication along with the decision of editorial council and sends to the address: 193031, St. Petersburg, 1 Sovetskaya st., 10, let. K. – for the editor-in-chief A. A. Kobrinsky. After signing of the contract of 1 copy return to the author.

1.1.7. The payment for the publication of manuscripts is not raised.

1.2. List of requirements to registration of materials and condition of submission of articles for the publication

1.2.1. Accompanying documents to the manuscript of article have to include:

- the author's reference (the surname, a name, the author's middle name, (full), e-mail, full data on the place of work, a position, degree, the office address with the indication of the postal index – in the Russian and English languages);

- the positive external review of the candidate or doctor of science in the scientific direction of article, the organizations for the place of work of the reviewer signed and certified by the press (in the scanned look);

The final decision on expediency of the publication is made by editorial council of the journal on the basis of independent reviewing.

During the writing and execution of articles for the press the editorial office of the journal asks to follow the following rules for authors:

1.2.2. Structure and contents of articles

• The name of article has to briefly, but most precisely reflect the touched issue. The recommended name length – no more than seven words (not including pretexts and the unions).

• In the journal the expanded structured summary in two languages moves: Russian and English. The summary (10-20 words) has to reflect the main content of work and results of a research. The data which are contained in the title of article should not repeat in the text of the summary. Subject, a subject, the purpose of work are specified in case they are not clear from the title of article. Historical information if they do not make the main contents of the document, the description of earlier published works and well-known provisions in the summary are not provided.

• Keywords: 5-7 basic concepts and terms which are used in the text.

• The text of article has to be carefully read, clear and laconic.

   Article has to contain the bibliography which rules of drawing up are explained below.


1.2.3. Engineering requirements to the manuscript


 Article is sent to edition by e-mail to the address: summerschool@list.ru. The review and data on the author are put by the separate file.

Article is made out by the separate file in the *.doc format. A font in all article (including footnotes, the summary, keywords, etc.) – Times New Roman, the 14th size, a line spacing – a one-and-a-half, paragraph space – 1,5.

Initials of authors are given through a gap: A.S. Pushkin. At repetition of a surname of the author initials can be not used.

Statement of a dash and hyphen is defined by rules of Russian. Between parts of the offer the dash with gaps, between parts of the word – a hyphen is put (without gaps). At the indication of range of dates or pages the dash without gaps is used: 1890-1900th years. If numerals have dependent words, gaps are put: the end of 1870 – the beginning of the 1880th years.

In any language are cited in quotes - "fir-trees". If in the quote one more quotes meet, then "pads" are used. However if the second quotes in brackets, then again "fir-trees". That is:

"… "…" …".

"… ("…") …".

The words "year" and "century" in any case and number are written completely!!! Year is specified Arab, and a century – the Roman figures (1918, but the 18-19th century).

Before article the summary and keywords at first have to be given in Russian, then (!) in English. The bold-face type selects only "Keywords:" and "Keywords:". The word "summary" is not used. The recommended summary volume – 2-3 offers, keywords and phrases – 5-6.

After reductions "See:" and "Cf.:" it is desirable to use a colon. In reductions "etc.", ", etc.", "i.e." between letters gaps are put.

Big quotes can be selected in the separate paragraph. Quotes at the same time are not put, italics is not used. The reference to the page after the poetic quote – in brackets, from a lowercase letter, without point after brackets:

Here a skull – that? For last generations

Whether in it there was terrestrial god a temple?

And nowadays even the worm will not be sheltered there. (page 197)

It is also possible to quote poetic texts in a line, using "/" as a divider of verses and "//" – stanzas.

Notes of the author are specified in parentheses in a format: (my italics. – A. A.), initials of the author are italicized.


At the end of article the list of references and sources" is provided ". This subtitle is written without quotes and punctuation marks at the end, italicized by semifat. All) (!) books, articles, etc. which were mentioned in work are entered in this list. It is not NECESSARY to specify the additional materials and researches devoted to the studied subject.

It is necessary to specify both initials of the author if they are specified in the edition.

The name of publishing house is specified only if it matters for contents of article.


In the list of references the following reductions are used:

In the text of article paginal footnotes (in Word avtomatic, through options "references – to insert a footnote") are used. At the first mention the complete description of a source, same, as in "The list of references and sources" is given, at repeated – the author, the name and the instruction on number of the page.

4. Article surely has to contain:

The block 1 – in Russian: UDC; name of article; surname and author(s) initials;

The block 2 – data on authors: surname, name, middle name completely; position; academic degree; academic status; address data of the author(s) (organization(s), address of the organization(s), e-mail of all or one author;

The block 3 - the summary (summary); keywords;

The block 4 - the full text of article in Russian;

The block 5 - the list of references in Russian (Bibliography);

The block 6 - information of the Block 1-3 in the same sequence:

- the name of article in English; data on authors: a surname, a name, a middle name completely - in Latin; position; academic degree; an academic status, the organization – in English; address data of the organization - in Latin; e-mail of all or one author; the summary, keywords – in English;

Block 7 – The bibliography in the Romance alphabet (REFERENCES). A transliteration in Latin (www.translit.ru BGN format) (a surname, the author's initials, the name of work, output data) with the subsequent indication of the name of the quoted work – in English. The author (transliteration), the name of a source (transliteration), the name of a source (in English), publisher's imprints in English.

The manuscripts issued without observance of these rules in edition are not considered.

2.1. General provisions

2.1.1. The present provision regulates an order of reviewing of manuscripts of articles and the requirement to the reviews coming to editorial council of the "Summer School on the Russian Literature" journal.

2.1.2. All materials coming to edition, go for reviewing on the subject corresponding to them for the purpose of their expert assessment.

2.1.3. The purpose of reviewing of the arriving articles - improvement of quality of the scientific articles published in the journal and, as a result, assistance to urgent scientific research by means of an assessment of materials highly skilled experts.

2. 2. Rules of supply of materials for reviewing

2.2.1. The scientific articles issued in strict accordance with conditions and order of reception of manuscripts are allowed to reviewing.

2.2.2. The authors who do not have an academic degree submit articles with the appendix of the positive review of the expert – the candidate or the doctor of science. The review is not required for participants of the international summer schools on the Russian literature which are carried out by editorial council of the journal.

2.2.3. At observance of above-mentioned requirements the manuscript of article is transferred to editorial board.

2.3. Organization of reviewing

2.3.1. The procedure of reviewing consists of one or two stages which are carried out consistently:

- the review (in case of need) is submitted the reviewer according to item 2.2.2;

- the review is provided by the reviewer appointed by editorial board.

2.3.2. The review is formed in a free form, contains the analysis of the submitted text and includes the reasoned assessment: scientific (theoretical, methodical and conceptual) article level; degrees of novelty of the results received by the author; practical importance of results; extents of assistance to development of scientific representations in the corresponding field of knowledge, the general list and analysis of all noticed shortcomings, and also ascertaining of lack of plagiarism and the general conclusion about expediency of publication of article or its deviation and completion.

The review is signed by the original signature of the reviewer.

2.3.3. All manuscripts coming to the editorial office of the "Summer School on the Russian Literature" journal go on a profile of scientific research to the review to members of editorial council, and if necessary to independent experts.

2.3.4. All reviewers to whom article goes to the review. have to be recognized experts in subject of the reviewed materials and have within the last 3 years of the publication on subject of the reviewed article.

2.3.5. Editorial council directs article to reviewing to the appointed reviewer. The term of preparation of the review – within a month from the moment of appointment of the reviewer.

2.3.6. Reviewers are notified that the manuscripts sent them are an object of an author's right and treat the data which are not subject to disclosure.

2.3.7. On the basis of the available reviews at a meeting of editorial council of the journal one of the following decisions is accepted:

2.3.8. In case of the positive conclusion of the reviewer appointed by editorial council, the manuscript of article comes back to edition for its publication in one of the next journal numbers.

2.3.9. In case of disagreements of reviewers the final decision on the publication of article remains behind editorial council.

2.3.10. In case reviews contain essential remarks and a conclusion on need of completion of article, the manuscript of article comes back to the author for elimination of remarks. The modifed version of article according to the decision of editorial council can be directed to repeated reviewing. In case of repeated negative result of reviewing the manuscript of article is rejected and is not subject to further consideration.

2.3.11. According to the decision of editorial council additional reviewers for elimination of doubts in expediency of the publication of article can be appointed.

2.3.12. In case of a rejection of the manuscript it comes back to the author.

2.3.13. The author has the right for acquaintance with the text of reviews. Copies of reviews or motivated refusal (in the cases provided by the legislation) are sent by editorial advice to authors by their inquiries.

2.3.14. Reviews of each article are stored in editorial council of the journal and in publishing house a current of 5 years from the date of an exit of a journal number in which the reviewed work is placed.

2.3.15. Editorial council of the edition sends to the copy of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation at receipt of the corresponding inquiry.
